『五色鳥』原來是啄木鳥的一種，吃的是果實、嫩芽、花瓣，也會抓小昆蟲給牠們的小孩吃。身體的顏色讓我想到在澳洲常見到的『彩虹鸚鵡』，吃得也很清淡，主食是花粉、花蜜，但牠們不用咬的，是用舌頭像舔棒棒糖一樣。

The ‘Taiwan Barbet’ is actually a type of woodpecker that feeds on fruits, tender shoots, and flower petals. It also catches small insects to feed its offspring. The colors on its body remind me of the ‘Rainbow Lorikeet’ commonly seen in Australia. They have a light diet consisting of pollen and nectar, which they don’t need to bite. Instead, they use their tongue to lick it like a lollipop.”
